How can i block msn messenger and other social netrorking sites like facebook?
I use dsl and want to block messengers (all) and other social networking sites for the sake of my punk brother. So please tell any solutions. I am desperate.

well you can use zonealarm firewall, and you can allow which applications that can connect to the internet, and in the firewall you can also configue the websites to be blocked with the firewall.
you can go to properties of web browser( if it is MS internet explorer but it can be useful with other browsers) and there is a option of blocking web sites u can give the names of web sites there
I presume you have a decent dsl router?
You can block them on there.
Or you can block them using the windows hosts file.
add lines like so
http://www.facebook.com 127.0.0.2
Disadvantage of the hosts method is that you need to know all the URLs you are after.
Another option is to use the contents advisor on IE, but that can be a bit tricky.
